The International Symposium on Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development (DRSD) were previously held in 2019 and 2021 where both events were heralded as successful.
The International Symposium on Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development (DRSD) were previously held in 2019 and 2021 where both events were heralded as successful. In 2019, the DRSD International Symposium, at the time called DRSD 2019, gathered more than 145 participants from 19 countries in Asia and beyond. Over 75 technical presentations and 6 keynote sessions were conducted, which featured globally recognized and prominent resilience and sustainability experts.
In 2021, the DRSD International Symposium, referred to as DRSD 2021, was conducted in hybrid mode and successfully gathered close to 200 participants from over 20 countries. A total of 100 participants delivered presentations highlighting innovative and creative methods and approaches to achieve sustainable development and resilience from disasters. The success of DRSD 2021 amidst a raging global pandemic was a testament to the quality of the event as well as the high enthusiasm of the participants that it attracted. Both DRSD 2019 and DRSD 2021 were attended by important multilateral institutions, funding agencies, industry actors, civil society groups, INGO/NGOs, and renowned academic institutions from Asia Pacific and beyond.
